Elmina crash: Family, friends gather at Sungai Petani mosque for funeral of p-hailing rider


SUNGAI PETANI: It was sombre afternoon at Masjid Al Huda at Kampung Jerong here when family and friends including villagers gathered for the funeral of p-hailing rider Muhamad Hafiz Muhamad Salleh, who was killed in a plane crash incident on Guthrie Highway at Elmina, Shah Alam on Thursday (Aug 17).

His remains arrived with police escorts at about 3pm Saturday (Aug 19) from Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR), Klang.

His body is expected to be laid to rest after prayers at the Kampung Jerong Muslim cemetery.

The delivery rider was passing by the area and was killed along with motorist, Sharipuddin Shaari, when the plane crashed.

Among the dead in the tragedy was first-term Pelangai state assemblyman and Pahang exco member Datuk Seri Johari Harun.

The others were pilots Shahrul Kamal Roslan and Heikal Aras Abdul Azim; passengers Kharil Azwan Jamaludin, Shaharul Amir Omar, Mohamad Naim Fawwaz Mohamed Muaidi, Muhammad Taufiq Mohd Zaki and Idris Abdol Talib @ Ramali.
